Dr. James Kroll met with representatives of the Wisconsin DNR this week for a briefing on implementation of the DTR Committee (Drs. David Guynn, Gary Alt and himself) over the last 7 years. “I am thrilled with the awesome progress” says Dr. Kroll, “particularly that the public is happy with the results!” The report recommended “democratization” of deer management, through County Deer Advisiry Committees (CDACs) and Deer Management Assistace Programs (DMAP). Though first skeptical, DNR personnel have enthusiastically deployed and implemented this revolutionary program! Hopefully it will provide a model for other states!
